Victoria Carriage Tours

  • By The Sea Tour (30 minutes) – We start our tour alongside the BC Legislative buildings and continue through the historic James Bay neighbourhood. Take in the magnificent architecture of some of the oldest homes in Victoria. We turn on to the Dallas Road waterfront to view the magnificent Olympic Mountains and stroll past Emily Carrs house. The tour winds it’s way through the Inner Harbor and ends at our stand. (A downtown option through Chinatown is also possible depending on the time of day).

 

  • Beacon Hill Park (45 minutes) – This relaxing tour travels by the famous Empress hotel and one of the oldest churches “Church Of Our Lord” established in 1874. You will pass by St. Anne’s Academy a sprawling convent that was renovated in the 1990’s. As you enter Beacon Hill Park you will notice a variety of trees and array of colourful flowers that is guaranteed to delight everyone. This 62 acre (24.8 hectare) park is filled with birdlife including a large Herron population. We then wind our way back through the historical James Bay neighbourhood returning to the carriage stand.

 

  • Royal Tour (60 minutes) – most popular tour begins with a breathtaking view of the majestic Empress Hotel, overlooking the Inner Harbor with its classic tall ships and sleek sailing vessels.  As you enter Beacon Hill Park, you will be dazzled with the array of fragrant flowers and delightful duck ponds. We continue on out to the Dallas Road waterfront, passing Mile 0 of the Trans Canada Highway. Experience the splendour of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The rest of your tour will be through the oldest neighbourhood in Victoria with an impressive variety of well-maintained historic homes and gardens. Our tour finishes back in the Inner Harbor by the Legislative Buildings and the Royal London Wax Museum.

  • Our Very Best (90 minutes) – This tour leaves from the side of the Legislative Buildings in the Inner Harbor passing by the Royal British Columbia Museum, Fairmont Empress, Victoria’s oldest Church and the restored St. Anne’s Academy. We then continue into Beacon Hill Park 62 acres of flowers, duck ponds and a wonderfully fragrant rose garden. Our next view is of the spectacular Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From here we meander back through James bay to the Inner Harbor, up Government Street to Chinatown and the Gate of Harmonious Interest and back through the Old Town of Victoria with its original waterfront buildings. Your next breathtaking view is of the majestic Empress Hotel and our landmark Legislative buildings & inner harbor, ending back at the carriage stand across from the Legislative Buildings.
